Come and explore one of the Gulf Coast’s hidden treasures, Werner-Boyce Salt Springs State Park in Port Richey, Florida. The park consists of over 3,296 acres of protected mangroves and salt marshes, with a second-magnitude Salt Spring, which is more than 320 feet in depth. Any visitors to this majestic gulf coast park will enjoy fishing and paddling the numerous inlets and bayous that wonder though the salt marsh.

Werner-Boyce’s pristine coastline is home to a wide variety of wildlife and creatures that called the park and it’s water home. It is common to spot gray fox, gopher tortoise, dolphin, raptors, wading birds, shore birds, and migratory songbirds during a visit to the salt springs.

See Unique Salt Springs – over 300 feet deep!

A primary feature of this  park is the Salt Springs, an oval-shaped pool only 80 feet by 60 feet, but it is an amazing 320 feet deep. The vent is just below the surface, though, and there is a noticeable boil near the center of the pool at low tide. Water flows strongly in the short spring run, which is bordered by live oaks, cypress trees, and sabal palms, and on into the estuary and the Gulf of Mexico beyond.

Want to experience this “lost in time” destination in Port Richey? Gill Dawg can help you get there.
